Plastic ID Cards – functional cards made of white PVC

A card instead of a business card – different purpose, same material

Plastic ID cards are not meant for handing over your contact details the way a plastic business card is. Instead, they work as a full-fledged functional card in the standard credit-card format of 85.4 × 53.98 mm and 0.76 mm thickness. Customers keep them in a wallet as a loyalty, staff or membership card, or as a prepaid gift card — built for repeated use at the counter, not for a one-off exchange of a name and phone number.

Material and durability

We produce them from opaque white PVC, 0.5 mm or 0.7 mm thick, which gives the card enough rigidity to withstand repeated swiping through a card reader, time-and-attendance terminal or simply being pulled out of a wallet. Printing is done using UV offset in CMYK, single- or double-sided, with full-bleed coverage across the whole card.

Personalisation and functional features

On request we can add a signature panel for handwritten notes, sequential numbering, a barcode (EAN13, CODE 128, CODE 39) or individual artwork and photography — features that make little sense on a classic business card but are essential on an identification or loyalty card. A magnetic stripe for access-control or attendance systems can also be added on request.

Finishing and die-cutting

For a premium finish we offer hot-foil stamping in gold, silver, blue, red or black metallic foil, plus a UV gloss or UV matte surface coating. Cards can also be machine die-cut with a hole for a lanyard, so the same card doubles as a badge or a corded access pass.

Typical uses

Plastic ID cards are most commonly used as customer loyalty cards, staff identification cards, club membership cards, prepaid gift and discount cards, or as hang tags and stock labels on merchandise. It is a product built for a repeated, functional role, not a presentation tool for passing on a contact.

Minimum order and turnaround

The minimum order quantity is 250 pieces, with a standard turnaround of 14 days from artwork approval. Every order includes 30 minutes of free graphic-design support to optimise your artwork and check the files before printing.
