Pantone

Pantone (Pantone Matching System, PMS) is an international system of precisely defined color shades. Every shade has its own reference number, such as Pantone 186 C, so it can be mixed consistently anywhere in the world.

Why Pantone matters

For screen printing and pad printing, corporate colors are mixed to Pantone references. This keeps the result consistent across pens, bags and textiles. Full-color methods, such as digital printing, UV printing and sublimation, build colors from CMYK and can therefore only approximate Pantone shades. Our RGB vs. CMYK article explains the difference.

How to specify a color

Include your logo's Pantone number in your order, ideally with the C suffix (coated, for glossy and coated surfaces) or U suffix (uncoated, for natural materials). If you do not know the number, you can find it in your brand guidelines, or we can suggest a shade based on your artwork.
