Roller - a retractable reel for comfortable badge carrying

Rollers serve as an accessory attachment for lanyards. This roller ends in a plastic buckle fitted with a snap stud. On the top there is a moulded plastic loop suited for attaching a lanyard clip or threading a cord through. Thanks to a round retractable mechanism, the card or badge can be pulled out to the needed distance and, after use, winds itself back in without having to hang loose or be taken off the neck.

Construction and material

The roller is made from a combination of plastic and metal - the round body with the retracting mechanism is plastic, while the studs (snap fasteners) at the end of the pull strap are metal. The clear plastic strap ends in two metal studs, which easily attach to any badge holder or tag with a punch hole for a snap fastener. The swivel loop on top allows a lanyard clip to be attached or a cord to be threaded through without tangling.

Practical use with a lanyard

The roller is an ideal accessory for anyone who wears an ID card, name badge or keys hanging around their neck. It lets you comfortably pull the card out to a reader or turnstile and, once you're done, simply let it retract back to your body, where it winds itself onto the cord. This removes the need to take the whole lanyard off your neck or risk losing a loosely hanging card.

Combining with badge holders and lanyards

The roller is most often used together with card badge holders - whether the hard or softened version - and with a lanyard worn around the neck. The metal studs at the end of the strap are easily pushed through the hole in the badge holder, creating a complete and functional identification system for corporate events, conferences or everyday workplace use.
