White ink represents a key technology for UV printing on dark, black, or transparent materials. Without a white base, colored inks on dark surfaces would barely show or would be severely distorted. UV printers equipped with white ink systems first apply a layer of white UV ink that creates an opaque base, and only then apply CMYK color layers. The result is clear, saturated coloring comparable to printing on a white background.
